Paragon 50 anniversary concert
Saturday 21st March 2026 | 7:30pm | Bath Abbey
In a flat opposite The Paragon a small group of friends began meeting up to sing. It was 1976. Fifty years on from that small beginning we are a thriving and successful chamber choir and we are gearing up to celebrate our birthday in style.
Join us on Saturday March 21st when we shall be in Bath Abbey for a promenade concert featuring gems from our extensive repertoire.
You will have the spine-tingling opportunity to follow us round the space as we sing from different corners of the abbey. Even more memorably you might choose to sit where you like and just absorb the experience from there.
Expect some Renaissance treasures in the form of William Byrd’s magnificent Civitas Sancti Tui and John Sheppard’s Libera Nos and contributions from Victoria, Josquin and Monteverdi. Lovers of contemporary music will be able to hear the unique sounds of James MacMillan and Will Todd as well as Roxanna Panufnik’s tour de force Love Endureth, alongside a newly commissioned piece from Sarah Dacey. We are also excited that an impressive number of our alumni are able to join us to sing some of the pieces.
The concert will last approximately 75minutes and a programme with text and translations is included with your ticket. You’re warmly welcomed to stay afterwards for a glass of something and enjoy the Abbey at a more relaxed pace as we mark this milestone year together.
Tickets will be available at Bath Box Office very soon, and available at the door on the evening.
