Paragon Singers present a concert celebrating the work of composers living in Warsaw and Krakow in the 16th and 17th Centuries.

Grzegorz Gerwazy Gorczycki was one of Poland's most renowned composers of the Baroque period, writing beautiful sacred motets and masses as well as ensemble cantatas. Luca Marenzio and Vincenzo Bertolusi were Italians of the late Renaissance who both spent time working in Poland, where they composed music incorporating the styles becoming popular across Europe at the time, including magnificent double choir and Venetian polychoral writing.

They will be contrasted by the arresting music of modern British composer Roxanna Panufnik, described by the Observer as "distinctive in voice, serious, bold and appealing."  Join one of Bath's most celebrated chamber choirs in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church for a fascinating exploration of stunning and little-known music.
