Paragon Singers present ‘Super Flumina', a programme featuring music inspired by rivers across the world, from the Euphrates to the Missouri. Expect gorgeous double choir polyphony by Philippe de Monte and Victoria, one of the famous Michael Tippett spirituals from ‘Child of our Time’, pieces by Poulenc, Gorecki, Palestrina and James Erb's stunning arrangement of the American folk song 'Shenandoah'.
Plus a world premiere from award-winning composer John Barber, commissioned by Paragon Singers and setting an Emily Dickinson poem. John studied with Harrison Birtwistle and has composed for the Royal Opera, Glyndebourne and The Sixteen. Join us in the magnificent setting of St. John's Church on South Parade for an unforgettable evening of music-making.
