THE GARBAREK PROJECT
SATURDAY 14 JUNE 3;30PM
ST LUKE’S CHURCH, WELLSWAY, BATH
A unique concert that melded choral music with improvisation, inspired by the work of the Hilliard Ensemble and Jan Garbarek.
An exploratory afternoon of music by Paragon Singers and guest saxophonist Marc Horobin, including pieces by Purcell, Palestrina, and Hildegard, in which the soprano saxophone becomes another voice in the texture; at times within the choir and sometimes removed. The programme also featured choral improvisation alongside modern works by James MacMillan, Jessica Curry and Will Todd.
An afternoon of exquisite music in the beautiful surroundings of St Luke’s Church.
