VENETIAN SPLENDOUR

Saturday 1 MARCH 2025
CHURCH OF OUR LADY AND ST ALPHEGE, BATH

An unforgettable celebration of the groundbreaking ‘cori spezzati’ tradition that originated in 16th century Venice. Including the majestic works of Gabrieli and Monteverdi, alongside compositions by composers across Europe who were inspired by the polychoral technique, in which multiple choirs sing from different locations, creating a striking, spatial dialogue.

Paragon Singers were joined by the exceptional English Wind Consort, renowned for their expert performances on period wind instruments. It was a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in the rich legacy of Venetian music in the stunning surroundings of St Alphege in Bath.
